Beautiful photos and clear directions and charts. I checked out the book at the library. I loved it so much that I spent one full day making every possible flower. I was sad to return the book, so I ordered a copy for myself.

Good recipes and meal planning advice. Many of the meals were not meals I would serve on a regular basis. They are inexpensive meals and meals that can be prepared in a pinch. Good book for a few of the recipes.

I relished the absurdity of Candide and dreamed of his torment and his desire to believe all is well. I already want to read this book again to gain a deeper understanding. I am sure I have overlooked so much. Everything translates so well to our modern world. The conflict between people, neighbors, countries, the innocence, evil, the selling of our souls to try and gain happiness. In the end, beauty, infatuation, and riches do not bring happiness and peace. The cultivation of our own gardens is what will bring happiness and peace within ourselves.

A really quick read. Fairly predictable, but enjoyable and held my interest. I loved the way the author portrayed the abusive relationship between Patrick and his mother.
